Paste or drag a screenshot

On Capture you can paste a screenshot (Cmd+V or Ctrl+V), drag a file onto the box, or click the box and choose a file. If paste does nothing, work down this list.
Paste isn't working?
- Mac saved a file instead. Cmd+Shift+4 saves to the desktop. Use Cmd+Ctrl+Shift+4 to copy the area to the clipboard, then paste.
- Windows hotkey stopped. If Print Screen or Win+Shift+S does nothing, turn on Settings > Accessibility > Keyboard > Use the Print Screen button to open screen snipping.
- Chart app in exclusive full screen. Some trading apps block the snipping tool in full screen. Use Win+G to take the screenshot, or switch the app to a borderless window.
- Paste adds the wrong picture, or the same one twice. Press Win+V to open the clipboard history and pick the right screenshot.
- Linux with KDE. Copy any other item, then copy the screenshot again, and paste.
- Work computer or remote desktop. These often block the clipboard. Save the screenshot as a file instead.
Dragging a file always works
Save the screenshot as a PNG, JPG or WebP file and drag it onto the Capture box, or click the box and choose it.
